Super lightweight sarees with 100 count and affordable daily wear is what Bobbili Sarees
are famous for. This small village in Vizianagaram district has around 20 looms and the
whole family of 4 to 6 members work on each loom.
They procure pre dyed yarn from Nellore or Mangalagiri. They set up the warp frame in the
open area before setting up on the loom. They produce only cotton sarees with borders and
the body has vertical or horizontal lines, checks or plain which can be printed or embroidered
as one wishes.
